Siki Giunta, Vice President of Cloud Computing & Software Services

Presenting: Visionary Keynote: Cloud Computing; from IT solution to new business paradigm 

Siki joined CSC in May 2010 to head its newly-formed Trusted Cloud and Hosting Business Group. Siki will use cloud capabilities to extend CSC’s strength in consulting, systems design and integration, and cybersecurity, while driving the SaaS-enablement of CSC’s portfolio of industry solutions.

Prior to joining CSC, Giunta was president and CEO of Fortisphere; president and CEO of Managed Objects, where she helped create the Business Service Management software market category; vice president of strategic business for Novell; and a senior vice president at Computer Associates.

Siki holds degrees in literature and art history from De Vedruna College in Rome, Italy, along with a degree in French language and civilisation from La Sorbonne in Paris, France.

 

Richard Hall, Chief Executive

Presenting: How does your selection of Cloud deployment or service model provide unique opportunities and risks?

Richard founded CloudOrigin in 2009 to accelerate enterprise adoption of cloud computing in public and private sectors.  His twenty year career in IT spans energy, government, health, insurance, police, retail, telco and pharmaceuticals with particular focus on investment banking systems.  Richard re-architected the first Reuters capital markets trading system, was co-founder of risk analytics vendor Algorithmics in Europe (now part of Fitch), was Chief Technology Officer at Monis the derivatives modelling house (acquired by Sungard), Chief Technology Strategist at Evolution Consulting (now Detica/BAe) and until 2008 was UK CTO and Marketing Director for Avanade (the Microsoft and Accenture joint venture).   Richard graduated in Computing and Artificial Intelligence from the University of Sussex with sponsorship from BT to develop Expert Systems.

 

Claire Porter, Senior Vice President

As Senior Vice President, Infinity, Clare Porter is responsible for providing strategic business direction for SunGard’s SaaS, SOA, BPM and cloud strategy as well as looking after business development and marketing. She works in collaboration with the Infinity product management team and SunGard business units.

Clare has been with SunGard for fourteen years, joining with the acquisition of Infinity.  She has previously held roles within SunGard in Product Management, Professional Services and Marketing, and has worked in our Trading, Risk and Insurance businesses. Prior to SunGard, Clare gained wide experience in the Securities and Capital Markets business working for Citibank, Bankers Trust and HSBC over a 10 year period. Clare graduated as a Production Engineer and spent several years building military aircraft before moving to the financial services sector.

Justin is a leading SaaS and Cloud specialist- he authors the influential “This Week in SaaS”, blog and runs the largest SaaS community in the world, with over 21,500 members. Justin has been in IT over ten years, gravitating towards SaaS over the last five. This last year he’s been consulting to companies large and small, helping them create successful SaaS products and strategy, and before that he was an officer at Endeavors Technology, the inventors of Application Virtualisation.

Jeff is a partner and one of Morgan Cole’s management team. He is responsible for IT services, e-business and knowledge management.

Having joined Morgan Cole in 1992 as a trainee, he qualified into the insurance business area where he acted for Morgan Cole's insurer clients, defending personal injury claims for eight years before establishing a business unit, the legal innovation team, who streamline legal processes for case management, automate documents and develop e-business ideas. Since January 2004 Jeff has been Information and Technology Director.

On the e-business front, Jeff has led the development of a multimedia e-learning product aimed at improving managers’ HR skills called @once (www.once.pro). Jeff and the I&T group are engaged in other similar projects that assist in differentiating Morgan Cole by combining the firm’s legal expertise and use of technology to deliver legal services in an innovative way.

Ian Moyse, EMEA Channel Director

Presenting: What are the technical challenges when trying to integrate Cloud applications with existing architectures and legacy systems?

With 25 years in the IT Sector and over 7 of them specialising in security (with 5 in SaaS Security), Ian has been with Webroot over 3 years.

Starting as a Systems Programmer at IBM in the mainframe environment, he has held senior positions in both large and smaller organisations including Senior Vice President for EMEA at CA and Managing Director of several UK companies.  Ian has been keynote speaker at many events and has introduced and trained a large number of UK resellers in SaaS Security as well as bringing the technology to many major UK brand name companies. Ian now sits on the Board of Eurocloud and the founding panel of the Cloud Industry Forum (CIF).

 

 

Karl Deacon, Vice President, CTO Outsourcing Services UK

Karl Deacon is Chief Technology Officer for Outsourcing at Capgemini UK and a member of the UK Outsourcing Services Board. His role involves defining and delivering transformation programmes, strategy, architecture and IT service solutions for clients. He is also responsible for shaping the evolution of enterprise strategy, architecture and technology at Capgemini UK Outsourcing, for sharing thought leadership with clients and harnessing IT innovation on their behalf.

In addition to his UK role, Karl is a member of the Capgemini Global Outsourcing Innovation Council and is currently focusing on the opportunities presented by service orientation, cloud computing and Web2.0 solutions to extend the range and flexibility of the company’s service offers.

Karl has headed transformation programmes for major UK and multinational clients that have successfully applied new technologies to achieve a step-change in business performance. He also led the key part of the largest public sector transformation in Europe at a major UK government department. Before joining Capgemini he gained in-depth knowledge of the IT industry in senior roles, including CIO and IT Director, within the public and private sectors including blue-chip multinationals.

Frequently quoted in the press, Karl is recognised as a thought leader in the industry. He is an active participant in a variety of industry debating forums, executive director for the Capgemini research centre at the University of Reading and a member of the CIO-Connect Advisory Board.

Lewis holds a BA (Hons) in Business Information Systems and has been heavily involved in IT systems planning and design for almost 10 years. Since 2003, Lewis has worked for Microsoft in the public sector team working alongside Local Education Authorities and Children’s and Young People’s Services organizations, managing a team in their corporate accounts division and latterly being responsible for driving Microsoft’s cloud solution (BPOS) through Microsoft’s largest global reseller. He joined Content and Code in July to come onboard as their fulltime BPOS consultant. Security is at the heart of establishing trust in Cloud Computing, and therefore its success. Microsoft has been working hard to get this right, from the datacenter to the end-user, and even the connection to your on-premise systems, there is now a compelling proposition when weighing-up moving your data to the cloud.

With over 16 years of IT industry knowledge and a wealth of significant experience in project delivery and strategic planning as an IT consultant, David Brindle is currently the Business Development Manager for the Enterprise Solutions practice at Hitachi Consulting UK, responsible for technical proposition development and market strategy.

David joined Hitachi Consulting UK in 2006 and has extensively used his delivery, programme and project management experience across the Hitachi Consulting client base.  With industry knowledge spanning sectors such as Government & Public Sector, Financial Services, Travel & Transportation and Telco, David was the lead Technical Delivery Manager on major client projects such as Bupa. During the project, David was responsible for the management of 40+ developers (consisting of both onshore and offshore), while managing the delivery of several projects within a wider £200M programme of work.

Prior to Hitachi Consulting, David spent eight years at Unilog Ltd, most recently as J2EE Offer Manager and Principal Solution Architect. David started his career with the Ford Motor Company Europe Ltd. as an Analyst, Designer and Developer.

David holds a BSc (Hons) in Industrial Systems and Business Management from the University of Westminster, London, and is a Sun Certified Java Architect.

He has co-authored a book on Windows Azure and also a white paper about enterprise adoption of the Cloud. Owen Garrett joined Zeus in 1999 initially as a member of the software development team. More recently, Owen’s primary responsibility has grown to include product management, strategy and new product delivery. Owen is also deeply involved in the research and development needed to ensure Zeus continues to launch next-generation software and application technologies, based on current and future customer and market demands. Owen is also instrumental in the development of Zeus’ Cloud solution portfolio and go-to-market strategy, including engaging and partnering with a range of businesses that are pivotal within the Virtualisation and Cloud environments.

Owen has a strong track record in technology development and commercialisation and is a recognized Cloud evangelist speaker at key industry events.

Owen studied Mathematics at Cambridge University, followed by Cambridge's Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science.  He is joint author of a number of patents relating to application delivery.
