Marcus Du Sautoy, Mathematician Marcus du Sautoy, OBE, is the Simonyi Professor for the Public Understanding of Science and a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Oxford. Formerly a Fellow of All Souls College, and Wadham College, he is now a Fellow of New College. He is currently an EPSRC Senior Media Fellow and was previously a Royal Society University Research Fellow. He is known for his work popularising mathematics and has been named by The Independent on Sunday as one of the UK's leading scientists. In 2001 he won the Berwick Prize of the London Mathematical Society, which is awarded every two years to reward the best mathematical research by a mathematician under forty. He writes for The Times and The Guardian and has appeared several times on BBC Radio 4 and on television. He presented the television programme, Mind Games, on BBC Four. He has also written numerous academic articles and books on mathematics, the most recent being The Num8er My5teries. Du Sautoy is also on the advisory board of Mangahigh.com - an online maths game website and has appeared on Channel 4 News and on BBC Radio 4's Today programme promoting the service. |

Peter Hinssen,Co-founder, Across Group Peter Hinssen is one of Europe's thought leaders on the impact of technology on our society. He has a focus on the consumer adoption of technology, on the impact of the networked digital society and on the alignment between business and IT. In the Nineties, Peter was founder and CEO at e-COM Interactive, a leading Internet consultancy firm, where he implemented some of the first large-scale Internet and e-commerce projects in Europe. He is currently involved as a coach to executives to develop future innovation perspectives, and is a board advisor on subjects related to innovation and IT. He develops executive workshops and awareness sessions to bridge business challenges with IT solutions, and to leverage the innovation potential of IT. Peter also lectures on IT strategy and technology & organisation future challenges at various business schools in Europe such as London Business School (UK) and TiasNimbas Business School (Netherlands), and is a visiting faculty at Antwerp Management School (Belgium). Peter is a passionate keynote speaker frequently welcomed at Global C-level forums and conferences around the world. |

Sean Gourley, Co-founder and CTO, Quid Sean Gourley's twin passions are physics (working on nanoscale blue-light lasers and self-assembled quantum nanowires) and politics (he once ran for a national elected office back home in New Zealand).A Rhodes scholar, he's spent the past five years working at Oxford on complex adaptive systems and collective intelligent systems -- basically, using data to understand the nature of human conflict. As he puts it, "This research has taken me all over the world from the Pentagon, to the House of Lords, the United Nations and most recently to Iraq". Originally from New Zealand, he now lives in San Francisco, where he is the co-founder and CTO of Quid which is building a global intelligence platform. |
