Lewis Isaacs, BPOS Consultant of Content and Code is confirmed to present at The 3rd Cloud Circle Forum, 16 September 2010, ‘‘Security, reliability, compliance and governance; the importance of aligning the Cloud with your existing security and governance policies"(15:00 – 15:45).
Lewis holds a BA (Hons) in Business Information Systems and has been heavily involved in IT systems planning and design for almost 10 years. Since 2003, Lewis has worked for Microsoft in the public sector team working alongside Local Education Authorities and Children’s and Young People’s Services organisations, managing a team in their corporate accounts division and latterly being responsible for driving Microsoft’s cloud solution (BPOS) through Microsoft’s largest global reseller.
Lewis joined Content and Code in July to come onboard as their fulltime BPOS consultant. Security is at the heart of establishing trust in Cloud Computing, and therefore its success. Microsoft get this right, from the datacenter to the end-user, and even the connection to your on-premise systems, there is now a compelling proposition when weighing-up moving your data to the cloud.
In Lewis’ session ‘‘Security, reliability, compliance and governance; the importance of aligning the Cloud with your existing security and governance policies" (15:00 – 15:45), he will look to discuss the following critical issues surrounding Cloud Computing:
- What security processes are currently being used by Cloud service providers?
- What accreditations are in place to certify Cloud service providers? And what do they mean?
- How is your data regulated & what legal issues may arise when it crosses geographical boundaries? Including data protection and financial regulation
- How can you comply with industry-specific regulations with Cloud computing?
- Investigating availability guarantees and penalties and examining your supplier’s disaster recovery strategy
- The importance of clarifying where your data will be stored and who will have access to your information
- Ultimately, who has control over your data?
Don’t miss out on the opportunity to hear this thought-provoking session by Content and Code.
