The software developer Aditi Technologies has announced that it has purchased the cloud startup Cumulux for an undisclosed fee.
Cumulux, the 2010 Microsoft cloud partner of the year, is a company which designs and delivers cloud platforms for its customers. Aditi, also a Microsoft partner, has targeted Cumulux because of its connections with Microsoft. Its intention now is to developing new cloud offerings over the Windows Azure platform.
Paddy Srinivasan, the CEO of Cumulux who will join Aditi's cloud advisory board after the deal is completed, said: “Aditi and Cumulux complement each other. The synergy of global scale and strong Microsoft DNA make us one of the top Azure service providers in the market. Aditi gives us and our customers deep competency and scale in leveraging Azure to build large scale complex solutions.”
Aditi is headquartered in Bangalore while Cumulux also has a presence in India with offices in Chennai. India has an ever-growing technology and particularly cloud computing industry. Following this deal, however, Aditi is looking to expand its cloud-based services to software suppliers and market enterprises in the US and UK.
Aditi, founded in 1994, is also planning to hire over 130 cloud developers to create a cloud services platform for customers migrating their applications to the cloud.
Pradeep Rathinam, Aditi’s CEO, said: “We are betting our business on cloud computing, which will give competitive advantage to customers as we have demonstrated our domain expertise in building solutions on Windows Azure for Microsoft's independent software vendors (ISVs) and enterprises in partnership with Cumulux.”
