Delegates were today (Nov 3) given the chance to get to grips with virtualised desktops at The Cloud Circle's 6th Masterclass – an event sponsored by IBM
In a repeat of last month’s intimate masterclass session, a select group of 30 senior IT and business personnel assembled at Cloud Circle HQ in Victoria, London, to not only listen to presentations about the driving factors for, uses and benefits of and barriers to desktop on the cloud, but also to share their own thoughts, experiences and insights on the subject.
The event saw lashings of healthy debate and discussion served up alongside pastries and caffeine in equal measures. The areas covered included assessing what the drivers are to desktop cloud, how desktop cloud will impact upon your IT strategy, catering to the demands of a more mobile workforce and how a desktop on the cloud can help improve enterprise security.
The attendees were clearly keen to find out more about the topic and came prepared with questions and examples of their own to share. This enabled fluid and in-depth discussion between the delegates and IBM’s representatives, who were responsible for the presentations throughout the day.
Emma Taylor, founder and managing director of The Cloud Circle, reflected upon the morning’s event positively. “We had a really good mix of backgrounds today,” she said, “which is helpful for people to gain a deeper knowledge and understanding of the subject. It allows people to see things from a different perspective, picking up tips that they might not have thought of, and potemtially learning from peers who are a couple of steps ahead in the journey. We are confident that there was plenty for everyone to take away from the day, and the feedback we have already received clearly echoes that.”
