At the heart of this inaugural Industry Trends Report is the presentation of the findings of a survey conducted by The Cloud Circle among 250 senior IT and business based personnel. With input from industry experts, the collated data has been examined and critical, current trends in the world of cloud computing have been extracted.

Respondents were questioned on what they view as the most important benefits of the cloud to their organisation, what they see as the biggest barriers to cloud adoption and what impact they think the cloud will have on their organisation’s staff and IT budget. Furthermore, the survey also reveals how IT and business personnel have very different perceptions of cloud computing. Needless to say the survey yielded some very interesting, pertinent results.

Also included in the 20 page document are two case studies. The first looks at the fast-growing logistics and fulfilment company Dee Set and demonstrates how the company was able to make major cost savings through IT infrastructure remodelling as well as improve client services by utilising Google Apps for Business. The second case study looks at the conservationist charity World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). It examines how the organisation created a more interactive and collaborative intranet platform for over 5,000 staff by implementing cloud services.

The content doesn’t stop there either. The report also contains an interview with Ian McDonald, News International’s head of infrastructure and cloud, who offers invaluable first-hand advice for those making the transition into the cloud; and a feature on the benefits of consumer-led social media to enterprises which includes insights on Pizza Hut among others.

The report is free of charge and is available as pdf by clicking here. If you would like to receive a printed copy of the document, please give your details to Kristin Matthews: Kristin.matthews@nimbusninety.com.
